I believe the coolest part of getting older is looking back with gratitude as the path slowly unfolds. Nearly 25 years into my career, I can see it clearly now: my life flows when I follow my strengths, and I hit friction when I don't.
I've spent my career helping people understand themselves — as a college counselor guiding students through their first big transition and later working to disrupt traditional career guidance with performance-based tools that showed people what they were naturally equipped to do well, not just what they thought they should want.
Along the way, I've noticed something: most of us are still asking the same questions we asked as teenagers. Who am I? Where do I fit? What am I good at? What do I have to offer? Now, we just have the added bonus of families, careers, bills, and the newsfeed.
In 2009, thanks to an inspiring school leader, I first found language for my own talents through CliftonStrengths. And becoming a Gallup Certified CliftonStrengths Coach has given me the audacity to be my own case study and finally trust what I've always known was my work to do in the world.
Today I coach full-time, using the language of strengths to help individuals find clarity and confidence, managers build stronger teams, and educators bring strengths-based thinking into their classrooms. I believe most people are closer to their next breakthrough than they realize — they just need the right lens, and someone in their corner. I'd love to connect.
